We have had this come up many times during training and consulting. May I ask why you would want a cryptic sequential number and not a meaningful name? In other words, you could have a job name auto numbered such as “882828” or you could enter a job name of “2021-03-RTU01”. You would be following a naming convention rule that your company sets up.
On a related note as FYI. There is a preference to auto number the account number field on a customer or job. It does not copy to the Name field but many people do not know it is there.
