Gate Code Field

Please add a field for “Gate Code” that is visible in the work order address fields (and all other address fields). If you put it in the address lines, it interferes with the map applications on Mobile.

  1. Can you use a Work Order User Defined Field for this?

    You mentioned:
“. . . that is visible in the work order address fields (and all other address fields)”

Do you really need the gate code to be part of the address block or do you just want the gate code located in that area on the screen? Would this ever need to be printed or emailed? Is it just for the technician?

    1. Technically you could use defined for that, but for a technician in the field traveling to a house it’s part of the address and knowing there is a gate code prior to arrival makes their life easier. I don’t want them to access the iPad while sitting behind the wheel when they get to a gate and didn’t realize they would need a code.

It just needs to be visible on the screen with the address where ever you view an address. We also use lockbox codes on new construction (which could be in the gate code area).

We don’t need it to print anywhere for customer communications.

Just for the tech mainly, but i would like it visible with the address so our in house team can verify it with the address prior to dispatching a tech.

    2. There is a “Subdivision” under the customer address field. Even if that was just visible in WO and other forms (not to print) we could put it there instead of making a new field. I really just need the info quickly available where it is relevant.

  2. Okay. So this is how I would write the request. Does this look correct?

On the Customer form and Work Order form in AMII:

Please add the current “Subdivision” field, found on the Customer:job form, directly under the current City/State/Zip/Country line.

    Example:

    James Madison
    James Madison
8909 Lamar Overland Park KS 66207 USA
    Russell Estates

If there is no value (there usually is not), do not include a blank line (if possible). Rather than have an empty line that wastes room.

On the Work Order form in TOM:

Please add the current “Subdivision” field, found on the Customer:job form, directly under the current Zip/Postal field and above the current County field for both Bill To and Ship To. I say both for consistency.
